Whether you choose to snorkel or dive, with an amazing array of quality reef sites, attentive and friendly crew, the comforts aboard to swim with the turtles, we offers you the perfect setting to enjoy a day on the islands of Semporna.

Our selection of Island Day Tours will allow you to visit the islands on Semporna. All the islands are also a particularly good choice of location for nervous snorkelers or for families with small children, as they will allow you to begin to learn to snorkel from the shallow waters surrounding the cay or island itself. If diving is not your thing then join one of our daily snorkelling trips to Semporna’s Islands. You will be amazed by the diversity and colour found in the reserve’s clear shallow waters.

Whilst snorkelling you are supervised by qualified snorkel staff who will ensure you get the most from your trip to the islands.

Our Signature Selections

This Marine Park is a 35,000 ha archipelago located off Semporna and is a unique blend of nature and marine biodiversity. It is the perfect holiday spot for nature lovers, snorkelers, hikers and divers. Tourists can hike, scuba dive and snorkel.

Bohey Dulang is a trekkers’ and birdwatchers’ favourite, offering fantastic views from its peak. The islands are part of an extinct volcanic crater what are now forming a beautiful lagoon. The hiking trail going up the 353 meters peak which takes about 45 – 60 minutes to reach the top. Climbing across it can be very rewarding because of the unique flora and fauna that you can enjoy on the way.

Mantabuan Island is a volcanic made island. The only occupants are the nomadic community of Sea Gypsies who inhabit Mantabuan and surrounding islands. Though the place is not commercially developed, there is a Malaysian army base on Mantabuan.

Sibuan Island got a gentle falling, white sandy beach that is perfect for swimmers and non swimmers alike, someone can play in the shallows. Further outside, at the drop off, there are beautiful coral formations to discover with plenty of fish hiding in between. More experienced divers will appreciate the chance to get close up to mandarin fish, frog fish and ghost pipe fish. With its combination of shallow plateaus and steep slopes this little treasure island is a regular stop over during our Open Water Diver Courses and experienced diver programs.

08:30am – Proceed to Bohey Dulang.

09:15am – Bohey Dulang – Hiking starts. The hike will take about 1 hour 30 mins. Embrace yourself with a breath taking scenery of the surroundings of the island. Divers can choose to dive or hiking.

11:30am – Depart to Mantabuan and Lunch Break.

13:00 Hours – 1st Snorkeling/Diving session at Mantabuan.

14:30 Hours – Depart to Sibuan for 2nd Snorkeling/Diving Session.

15:30 Hours – Back to Semporna.

6-7 hours

With its sparkling white sand, mesmerising blue waters and top-class resort, Mataking Island is the ideal getaway for both the diver and non-diver. Divers can gear up and explore the Eel Garden, Coral Garden, Nudibranch Garden, Turtle Playground, Lobsters Lair and Hump Head Point. Rainbow runners, leaf fish, sweetlips, gobies on their migration route roam the waters here.

Timba-timba is known for the wonderful beach great to look for rare marine life. Barely 1km long from end to end, this gorgeous island has an incredibly tranquil sand spit at its northern end, which is exposed at low tide in a similar vein to that of nearby Mataking. For the snorkelers amongst you, the shallows of the reef are adorned with the coral colours of the rainbow where you can spot Hawksbill turtles coming up from the depths to sunbathe amongst the coral outcrops. Aptly named, this site never fails the scuba diver to find the shy and beautiful Blue-spot stingrays resting under the coral beds and rock formations. Try to spot the camouflage skills of the giant frogfish that also frequent the black corals.

Pandanan island is a typical tropical island ringed with fine sandy beaches. Underwater, all around are mixed stony and leathery corals. The east side slopes gently down but the west side is a drop-off to 70m. At the southern end is great to look for rare marine life that includes large cuttlefish, frog fish, crab, sea snakes and sometimes nurse sharks hiding under table coral. ​

09:30am – Timba-Timba for 15 mins stopover (depends on tideness). Embrace yourself with a breath taking scenery of the surroundings of the island with selfie or “wefie”.

09:50am – 1st Snorkeling/Diving session at Mataking.

11:30am – Depart to Timba-Timba and Lunch Break.

12:30 Hours – 2nd Snorkeling/Diving session at Timba-Timba.

14:30 Hours – Depart to Pandanan for 3rd Snorkeling/Diving session.

15:30 Hours – Back to Semporna.

6-7 hours

Mabul is located 15 km from Sipadan, this 20-hectare piece of land surfaces 2–3 metres above sea level, consists mostly flat grounds and aerial view is oval-shaped. Surrounding it are sandy beaches, perched on the northwest corner of a larger two-square-kilometre reef. Diving is the main activity on this island, and it can be done all year round. Marine life that can be seen here include sea horses, exotic starfish, fire gobies, crocodile fish, pipefish and snake eels. Mabul is also renowned for its amazing array of macrolife, making it an underwater photographer’s dream location to capture some of the rarest ecological species on film. Flamboyant cuttlefish, blue-ringed octopus, spike-fin gobies, frogfish and moray eels are just some of the spectacular critters you will encounter beneath the waters of Mabul.

Kapalai is truly unique because it is not quite an ‘island’. It is actually a large sandbar with a scenic resort built on stilts over the shallow crystal waters of the lagoon. Kapalai consists of a small sloping reef approximately 15m deep which contains many strange and beautifully ugly critters. Diving the house reef of Kapalai reveals a submarine world of large and small wrecks, covered with colourful feather stars, sponges and corals, and providing shelter for schools of sweetlips, fusiliers, batfish, as well as a myriad of critters on the sandy bottom. Indeed, Kapalai is an underwater photographers’ paradise.

08:30am – Proceed to Mabul.

09:30am – Photography or 1st Snorkeling/Diving session at Mabul. Photography suits to who loves to selfie or “wefie” with the breath taking scenery of the surroundings of in the resort of the island.

11:30am – Lunch Break on boat.

12:30 Hours – 2nd Snorkeling/Diving session at Mabul.

14:30 Hours – Depart to Kapalai for 3rd Snorkeling/Diving session.

15:30 Hours – Back to Semporna.

Important Reminders
  • Sabah National Park does not allow hiking activities during raining days. In that case, the hiking will be replaced by snorkelling. In any case, sneakers are a MUST for hiking.
  • The itinerary will be adjusted according to the weather, tides, waves, number of people, departure time and other reasons if needed.
  • We suggest to bring only 20-30 RM on your trips. Any valuable items and cash at your own risk only.
  • The dive site may be changed by the dive crews based on the weather conditions.
  • Swimsuits, tampons, rash guards, seasickness pills, waterproof bags, slippers etc. are NOT included. Please bring your own.
  • Extra fees will be charge on the spot in case of losing life jacket (RM100), snorkeling mask (RM60) & snorkel (RM50).
  • Transportation surcharge : Outskirts Area Hotels / Homestay (5km away of the meeting point) – RM5 per person (return).
  • Discover Scuba Dive/Try Scuba is only 2 dives
